Custom-Made Samfu Top and Pant Co-Ord Set in Handwoven Ikat
Now this is one of my most used sets. This handwoven pure cotton Ikat is incredibly comfortable to move in. It's soft, breathable and easy to iron.
This set was made by my tailor - again, Chic N Sleek in Ipoh using 3.5 metres of handwoven 100% cotton Ikat, which I sourced from India.
Would you believe if I told you, I've even worn this for a flight to Japan. Yes, I wore it for my flight from Singapore to Osaka with my baby whom I also breastfed - imagine that!
The top is made in a boxy-cut crop style which I love, it's not tight and allows movement, while the pant is a high waist fitted trouser with a zipper on the back.
One mistake I made was to put it in the dryer at the hotel in Osaka. It caused minor fraying at the darts, but I managed to get that fixed.
Isn’t that the beauty of good quality garments and fabric, they can be fixed and used for a very long time. They last much longer than fast fashion, and on the overall are definitely more sustainable.
I’m all about having limited high-quality garments, opposed to owning many fast fashion items. I consider it as doing my part in reducing my fashion footprint.
