Samfu Top in Liberty of London Fabric
Just in time for CNY, I had this Samfu top made using a lovely, yellow Liberty fabric. I've been dreaming of something in yellow for a while now and then found this extra 1 meter of Liberty fabric I've been keeping.
I took it to my tailor and she turned it into this wonderful top.
Did you see the broderie anglaise trim at the bottom? I went to an old shop in Ipoh and found that they had a big collection of broderie anglaise trims. I wanted to buy them all. They were beautifully arranged in every colour of the rainbow. I really have to go back to get more soon. They also had nice buttons, like the ones I always get in Kyoto. The shop is called Kok Kim, if you want to look it up in Ipoh.
I also collected my emerald green silk velvet co-ord set on this trip, you have to see it - it's the most exquisite fabric ever. I'll share more on the next post.
Summer 2026 update: Broderie anglaise is one of the hottest trends this summer. I noticed many brands using it as trims just like this on cotton outfits.
